Whilst we’re not explicitly vegan at The Lexington a number of us are vegetarian and we’re sympathetic to the moral, political and environmental cause of veganism and understand how important these factors are to people who not only play at the Lexington, but who visit us regularly.
Since the start we’ve always tried to offer great vegetarian and vegan options and in the last few months, with the help of our kitchen pop-up GoneBurger, we feel like for the first time ever the vegetarian/vegan offerings on the menu are giving the meat eaters a run for their money. From the end of September we’ll be doing roasts again and we will be bringing back the vegan roast, last time out this was a massive hit and we’re going to be paying particular attention to the vegan yorkies which you loved!
Potato and chickpea fritter, coconut sauce, tamarind, fresh pineapple, chilli and red onion
Handmade beetroot and butter bean patty, halloumi, chilli jam, aioli, lettuce and onion
Handmade beetroot and butter bean patty, guacamole, vegan cheese, salsa, chilli jam, tortilla chips, lettuce and onion on a seeded bun
After doing a quick itinerary of our beers we’re happy to say that the majority come up vegan friendly! It’s only the old boys who seem to think that using fish bladders and animal byproducts in the filtration process makes sense in the 21st Century, so avoid the ale pumps!
We’ve put together a beer list below, which is by no means canon as we routinely change our lines. The more long term vegans amongst you will already be aware of Barnivore but if you’re new to the game then this is a great site to check if what you’re drinking is vegan friendly www.barnivore.com
